Disrupting the Danish Labor Market for Youth Employment

Disrupting the Danish Labor Market for Youth Employment

Description

In a service design team at CIID, partnering with Innovation and Social Impact Leader Jennie Winhall and the Rockwool Foundation, we reimagined young people employment opportunities for the Danish labor market.

Spearheaded user-centered research and stakeholder engagement, collaborating with policymakers, educators, and young job seekers to identify systemic barriers and opportunities.

The foundational research led to long term investment NExtWORKS, implemented by the Rockwool foundation in multiple Danish municipalities, with over 1000 individuals and over 600 companies participating.

The impact assessment is being carried out by researchers from the Institute for Fiscal Studies in London.

Outcome

  • Clearly outlined service blueprint surfacing each service step, involved stakeholders, and impactful activities.
  • Co-creation and qualitative interviews with young job seekers, increasing interest and potential impact.
  • Strengthened collaboration between public, private, and non-profit sectors, fostering a sustainable ecosystem for labor market innovation.
  • Recognized by the Rockwool Foundation and local governments as a best practice model for inclusive, future-ready employment services.
